Ragebait article. The fact that ""property value"" of all things is mentioned, should raise alarm bells:

“For the people who actually live on 7th Avenue here, it is not only disruptive but has real potential to negatively affect property values,” said Entwisle.

What happens, is that bike lanes for both sides of the road, were introduced. And that is objectively a great thing. In fact, I would argue it is better to make car lanes the sidelanes; they must yield to bicyclists and pedestrians.

I mean, I certainly don't want car lanes, even low speed ones, between my pedestrian paths and the things I'd be walking to.

Yeah nah, doing that in a residential zone is a bit weird - should stick to split pavements, not split roads
