Being class conscious and wanting the end of capitalism doesn't exclude you from being able to partake in recreation. If we took more recreational time and less time slaving away we could also work on community building through cookouts, groups of people playing board games, etc.

This post seems to think they're mutually exclusive while not being so.

I'm not sure what the goal of the post is other than making people who have slightly more than others feel bad for having slightly more under a system in which no one has any control except the top minority. This feels more like a post to insight infighting, rather than a post that tries to bring the knowledge to light in a way that is actionable for the slightly more fortunate.

It’s a call to action for those of us who are privileged, that we need to be doing more praxis to undo the systems that oppress and exploit of which these benefits come from.

So the goal is hopefully some introspection.

The rhetoric is too weighed down by its own heavy hand to impact the uninitiated it intends to reach. It reeks of snark in ways the intended audience find unapprochable. If the intent is to agitate the complacent then target the soft spots which give cause to push back against a target. Few are spurred to meaningful change through shame alone (and the few, I'd wager, are often reactive instead of responsive).

But the post itself is not a call to action. It is "You are privileged and other people are less fortunate." Why make a post that hopefully makes introspection when you could make a post that will make introspection. Signal boost strategies, or groups or whatever that promotes praxis to those who are not aware.

Like the other commentor said, this just makes me want to kill myself for having the ability to decompress and distract myself.

I’m sorry you feel that way, personally when I read this I get angry at the system and my own inaction and it makes me want to fight it.

Agitation is a big part convincing someone to want to do the strategies. That’s why I find posts like this beneficial.

It sounds nice, but unfortunately the alternative for people distracting themselves in that manner is probably not "more praxis" but "kill themselves".

Also video games is one of the worst images for a post like this, being one of the absolute cheapest hobbies possible.

To me, the post feels more like my lived experience. No one watches the news. People barely have the mental capacity to understand th conflict, much less see any tangible ties to actionable progress. It's just the next consumerist thing with the occasional programmed bullshit "rip charliekirk" and "I dont think trans people should play sports"

Capitalists don't want you to know this, but the distractions in the park are free. I have 200 distractions.

oh the park? Yeah it's scheduled for redevelopment, they're building a new mallwart there!
