The ones that I have found react with vehement hatred spewing the same oft-debunked nonsense every time AI is mentioned even obliquely, and anything even vaguely critical of that groupthink gets downvoted massively, and frankly it's tiring and boring! (If you're thinking of responding with such comments here, don't!)

But I do want to read and talk about tech in general

General communities like AskLemmy or whatever are also welcome

I've heard that the dbzer0 instance is more AI-friendly, so you could try something there. I don't see a tech community specifically, but here's the community list:

https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/communities

(Note that since this is directly on their site, you won't be able to join communities through this link, so you'll need to search for them on the one you're logged in on.)

Thank you, I'll take a look at the place

I hope you're wrong but fear you may be right. It's a real shame that a community which is necessarily nerdy simply by virtue of the nature and relative obscurity of the platform is so fucking wilfully ignorant when it comes to this technology!

Lemmy is overrun by bots and tankies with bots.

I’m seriously thinking about going back to Reddit. 🤪🤮

I’ll talk about tech with you and not hate on ai or make it about tanks.
