The frustrating thing is they did this really clever shot at the beginning by dropping a backlit sphere into some sand and it looked exactly like a slow motion of the fireball expanding, but then for the main thing they had that travesty. It was such an anticlimax.
Nolan is a dumb person's idea about a smart person, and is a perfect encapsulation of first year film bros. As a film teacher, i fuckin hate him and his movies, despite appreciating some of the things he does very well (shooting on film entirely, mostly practical effects). He's a dogshit writer, and not a great director. Dude should be a producer and stop pretending he's an auteur
A friend of mine called Christopher Nolan the Elon Musk of movies and I'm kind of inclined to agree.
