I'm a huge advocate for mandatory maximum sentencing for perversions of the system like this.
Officers creating or planting evidence? Mandatory maximum sentence of whatever crime they tried to pin on that person.
Same with people knowingly making provably false accusations. At the moment they never get any punishment while the person they accused of something almost always has their life destroyed by it forever.
