I really hope we can start updating this soon...

If the reports are true and we're not going for Kane, who do we want in?

I like the look of Vlahovic, I think he could be Ten Hag's type of striker. He scores different styles of goals, big enough to be a target, good touch and might not blow the bank as he's struggled to settle at Juve.

I do think there's plenty of options on the market that would improve us in that position (Hojlund and Kolo Muani for example). Anything would be an upgrade on Martial/Weghorst as our striking options!

Kane would be my top choice but as it looks like that is not happening because of Levi. I would want any 2 out of these 4: Osimhen, Goncalo Ramos, Santiago Gimenez, and Hojlund. Realistically we need to sign 2 strikers. Martial needs to be sold.

Hojlund. Strong, fast and young.

[-] Datzevo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I second this. I think he would fit in nicely with Rashford, Bruno and Mount.

[-] Bird_Lawyer@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I’m on board for Hojlund.

[-] kameecoding@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

bit off topic, but I like how much less active this thread is compared to the /r/reddevils threads, I sometimes check them out of morbid curiosity and it's full of people bitching and moaning about everything, the transfer amounts for mount/hojlund, fake onana transfer numbers etc.

Definitely makes moderating easier too!

After Mount (55m), and now possibly Onana (40m), how much are left for a striker? How much are they allowed to spend, fair play and all?

[-] kameecoding@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

need sales before we can get a striker, but as far as I understand, outgoings count for more for FFP than I comings so if we sell Heaton + Henderson for 25-35m we can spend more

[-] NeverSleepWalking@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

We already need two young replacements for Varane and Lisandro.

I saw the post on the re*dit linking us to Tapsoba, Todibo and Antonio Silva, but I am going to scream if we don’t have a look at Giorgio Scalvini.

A.Silva and another CB with some real impact would do wonders.

Only leaving a new midfielder, second striker, potentially a youth player at either wingback, another DM and lastly the rats 🐀 fucking off.

So will this mean Madrid go all out for Mbappe, and leave Kane alone?

[-] Reddevilegg@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago

If they're looking to replace Benzema they could go for both. Kane is good at playing a deeper role so he could be the one playing Mbappe in.

Or at least if we were in for both of them that's what I think we should do!

[-] Dui@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Soo the stock price has a huge jump! Does this mean there is some substance to the rumours floating around?

[-] RamesesKnibs@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Don't think so. There's an article in The Athletic which outlines exactly what happened, the whole rumour got started by a random Twitter account that advertises illegal streaming. Don't think Dave from Cardiff has any insider knowledge

[-] redmosquito@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Dave from Cardiff tier 1 when?!

[-] LUHG_HANI@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Did Pool actually think Bellingham was going to them? Deluded if they did.

[-] Mackerdaymia@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

If they'd had a good season it might've happened. His next move will be Newcastle or City - no-one else bar a Qatari United will be able to afford him.

[-] kameecoding@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Balogun is now being connected to Inter for 35 million Euros.

I feel like we should be all over that if Kane goes to Bayern, we might as well commit to young strikers.
