Fuck, recently became a Sixers fan and I'm regretting the decision.

speaking as someone who started following the sixers in 2013... you're in for some disappointment

Where are you from, and what made you choose Philly?

[-] fiestapinguino@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Born in the Bay, went to school in Philly for 5 years or so, and now am in Seattle. Have been a neutral for most of my life but have always had a soft spot for Philly sports teams.

I'm also a Bengals fan, so I've been through my fair share of disappointment haha

Wow, NYK and LAC?? Not HOU? The 76ers want to contend, I guess they don't care for Houston's young players in a trade.

really weird decision by harden. You'd think this is his best chance to lock in a long term deal. Maybe he didn't like the vibes his agent was getting around the market.

I'm not surprised to see him take his option. According to spotrac there's only 5 teams under the cap and 7 teams with practical cap space so not a lot of possible suitors. He gets more money overall by waiting until next offseason to pursue a 2-3 year deal before retiring.

yeah but I'm not sure why he expects next year to be any better in that regard. CBA consequences will be even more set in stone and he'll be another year older.

Harden: Can't win with Embiid. Disappears in playoffs and then blame others for it.

Hes retiring without a ring, might as well go play somewhere with a sun and a beach

[-] vodkasolution@feddit.it 1 points 1 year ago

So Rockets with Harden, Brooks and FVV? OP is right: no ring (as if he'd stay in Phila imo)

It sucks it ended like it did, but I wish him the best wherever he goes. Hopefully the sixers can get something good for him :D

Wonder if this will open the door for FVV to Philly.
