Getting both Simone Resta and the head of Ferrari's sim department is huge. Especially as Mercedes has had all those troubles with making concepts that seem great in sim, actually work on track.

So considering they are joining in 2025, their influence will only begin with 2026. Looks like merc are planning for the future because they know there is little hope in the current rules cycle
