Will our own elites perform any better than the rulers of Chaco Canyon, the Mayan heartland, and Viking Greenland?

It's way, way too late to be the first stages of civilization's collapse.

Yeah that was 50 years ago when Exxon hide that they had detected man made climate change

This is the kind of alarmist media that cripples people with anxiety and leads to learned helplessness. We want to be giving people hope for change, not taking it away.

Giving people false hope is why nothing changed in time

I wish I could upvote you more.

I wish people would get angry and organize instead of wringing their hands that some pathetic people that don't matter might feel some anxiety.

Garbage clickbait nonsense

[-] stopthatgirl7@kbin.social -3 points 1 year ago

Good to one that a) you didn’t read it and b) you don’t know what “clickbait” is. Rarely is “clickbait” long form, jsyk.

Rarely is “clickbait” long form, jsyk.

lmao what?

Clickbait is a headline or thumbnail link that is designed to attract attention and entice users to click on a link. Clickbait is often deceptive, sensationalized, or misleading. It can include exaggerated claims or leaving out key information.

What you have posted is the literal definition of clickbait.

[-] stopthatgirl7@kbin.social -2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

So what “exaggerated claim” did it make or “key information” was left out? Because the article goes into great detail on the subject - civilization collapse - that it brings up.

Actually, never mind. You have a lovely day.

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Civilization is not mid-collapse. That is sensationalistic. It is meant to drive clicks.

It is clickbait.

Humans will adapt and move north and south to cooler weather.

[-] stopthatgirl7@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, because countries have been so open and welcoming of migrants and refugees, amirite.
