Why are people going to show up for a primary that doesn’t matter? There was literally nothing else on our ballot in AZ so there wasn’t much point.

So ... Bernie Sanders? In which case, it's an indication that Biden needs to be courting the progressive vote (which was always obvious and probably why Hillary's approach of shitting on them got Trump elected).

Bernie was running in the primaries? Did he do any campaigning? If so none of it reached here.

He won 9 states including California. Early on he was outperforming Biden before all the other candidates dropped out and endorsed Biden, not long after that he dropped. So not sure which states he was on the ballot for.

Chicagoans can permanently register to vote by mail! Just fill out a form and the city will send you a ballot before every election! There's no reason to accidentally not vote anymore.

In August, Chicago will play a key role in President Joe Biden's reelection bid as he's set to accept the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination in the populous Midwestern city.

Given its strong Democratic tilt, Biden is basically assured of winning Cook County — which includes Chicago and many of its suburbs — by an overwhelming margin this November.

Still, in swing-state cities like Atlanta, Detroit, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Phoenix, the vote margins that come out of these Democratic strongholds will be critical for Biden.

And the low primary turnout in Chicago could be an indicator of looming issues that the Biden campaign will have to address in other cities to emerge victorious in November, according to top Democratic pollster Celinda Lake.

I think they just weren't turned on for this election, but it's a warning sign to other places," she told The Chicago Sun-Times' Tina Sfondeles.

Lake also stressed the role that cities have played in generating the sort of turnout that Democrats generally need to overcome the GOP's rural edge in states like Georgia and Pennsylvania.

Looks like supporting genocide may overshadow all of the impressive things Biden has accomplished. He needs to take a stand against genocide instead of funding it. Then we will have a chance at holding on to democracy for a few more years.

Uh... No. The genocide matters a lot. Maybe not to all the population, but to certain segments (mainly Muslims and young progressives) who are key for Biden's reelection. "People in real life" depends a lot on who you interact with, but the fact that there is a large number of potential voters who will sit out the election because of Gaza is undeniable.

Edit: Also Israel had tight control over Western public opinion so they've managed to avoid scrutiny for a long time, but there's a decent amount of historical precedent for American people being very not okay with genocide (other than their own, anyway) and that affecting the country's foreign policy.

It matters to Muslims voters and can easily cost Biden Michigan. Biden's margins were tight in 2020*, stop pretending like some votes don't matter.

So, what can he do to win more votes than a fascist? If the fascist wins, I am definitely not going to stick around on this planet for that again. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that sentiment.
