I am pretty tight for time since my second child was born yesterday. For my first I would let my wife sleep while I held my baby and browsed reddit for hours. The timing of all this couldn't be worse for me. Nothing to do while I'm pinned down with a baby!

Anyway to try to get a sort of 1:1 subscription quickly on here? I used rif only before. I'm hoping there is a pretty close community for each subreddit I was subscribed to before. If not, eventually I'm sure there will be though.

Congrats!

I just manually searched for the communities I like the most using Liftoff for Lemmy.

Alternatively you can search for your communities using https://sub.rehab/ and then add them to Lemmy. Also manually sadly.

Thank you! Well at least there's that website! That'll help a lot. Thank you!

But you can import available subreddits to your sub.rehab favorites. Keep in mind that not all communities are on Lemmy/Kbin.
You'll need to be logged in to reddit.com
Go to https://www.reddit.com/reddits and scroll down a bit to "HOME FEED SUBREDDITS" window which is on the right side. There's a "multireddit of your subscriptions" link, copy it. Then go to your sub.rehab settings and under "Favorites" click on "Import from Reddit". Paste the link you just copied into the input field, and it will automatically add the available communities to your favorites.

In my case it found only 12/70 communities.

Pro tip: Set up your home instance on bottom of sub.rehab settings (don't forget to enable it) to open the links directly through your home instance instead of having to search for communities manually.

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your child.

Now to answer your question , right now there is no option for Android users to import their subs in any app. Only Wefwef allows Apollo users to do that.

Haha man I feel your pain. We have an 18-day-old (2nd kid, have 3.5 year-old) right now and I'm going through the exact problem. Congratulations and good luck lol.

Not sure about your main question, but I browse YouTube or listen to podcasts as an alternative. Throw on some wireless headphones before sitting down with the baby.

Congrats on the second child!

Yeah I do YouTube or podcasts too but eventually my ears get tired of the wireless headphones. It's nice to switch between the activities
