Posting to Lemmy.world from Lemmy.ml results in only Lemmy.ml users being able to see that post, so I think they blocked each other. When do you think they will be federated again?

Lemmy.ml appears to be massively overloaded. Browsing their instance’s website results in network timeout errors. They haven’t applied the same fixes that lemmy.world has yet either. So, it’s not blocked, it’s just that lemmy.ml is currently unable to keep up with things.

You can see the list of blocked instances at /instances.

They are currently not blocked.

Many federation things are broken atm. i know of Multiple communitys that are behind hours or Multiple days both on lemmy.world and Kbin the instance owner says their server got tons of recources free so its federation related bugs i guess.

Probably not blocked, but broken/overloaded...

maybe never, this is going to be a thing on and off with the large instances, get on a smaller one with a neutral rep and youll be able to interact with the whole fediverse as long as you don't cross lines.

Exactly. Here's a great list to help people get started with choosing a different instance: https://github.com/maltfield/awesome-lemmy-instances

I'll probably end up in a totally defederated instance or another platform altogether the way things are looking.

I just read this morning that someone is spamming the hell out of lemmy.world from what looks like an attempted DDoS run with a ton of communities with a bunch of random post with no actual content.

What's up with Lemmy.ml? Why would large instances block each other??? I'm genuinely confused

[-] gylotip@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

They didn't block each other. It's just a server error.
