Well this was the dumbest man alive.

[-] Steve@startrek.website 17 points 8 months ago

RIP dumbass

[-] BombOmOm@lemmy.world 46 points 8 months ago

The fuck did he expect?

He even has a gun, backup 50 feet and shoot it from behind cover.

[-] DaGeek247@fedia.io 39 points 8 months ago

He knew it was there way before it fell down next to him. 5$ says he didn't have any bullets.

[-] Deceptichum@sh.itjust.works 31 points 8 months ago

We didn’t spend millions of years evolving to throw shit at shit just to walk up and whack it with a club.

[-] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 8 points 8 months ago

Well you and I may have gotten that memo, but he certainly didnt.

[-] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Isn't that what you do when hardware just won't work?

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 4 points 8 months ago

I wouldn't take that bet, otherwise he'd have shot at the drone when it was in the air.

I almost feel sorry for the wretched soul.

[-] DaGeek247@fedia.io 2 points 8 months ago

You misread my comment.

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 8 points 8 months ago

One can only imagine he thought he could disable it.

[-] Che_Donkey@lemmy.ml 39 points 8 months ago

The war could end tomorrow if the Ukrainians develop drones that are shaped like toilets

[-] slaacaa@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Just leave washing machines rigged with IEDs around the countryside

[-] hydroptic@sopuli.xyz 38 points 8 months ago

Not only did he throw his AK at it, he missed. He would have been fine but then he went and picked up what looked like an RPG tube, tried again, and successfully demobilized himself.

[-] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 28 points 8 months ago

Russian soldier repairs broken Ukrainian drone with innovative field method.

[-] acetanilide@lemmy.world 23 points 8 months ago

Well that is absolutely terrifying

[-] Blackmist@feddit.uk 12 points 8 months ago

I've seen this in a lot of the Ukraine videos now, but what are these Russians fucking doing?

It seems less like an army, and more like a bunch of homeless crackheads camping out in some apocalyptic woods.

I'd always imagined warfare to involve a lot more organisation and advancing on the enemy.

[-] RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

I just imagined a monkey throw an AK at a missle that's lodged in the ground. And it was amazing.

[-] crispy_kilt@feddit.de 3 points 8 months ago

Hey now, don't compare monkeys to the invaders, that's not fair to the animals, they can be quite smart

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago

Well they're barely or not at all training a huge number of new ~~soldiers~~ canon fodder and barely equipping a lot of those. This idiot probably had like 1 magazine and a week of training.

A community for your defence shitposting needs

Rules

1. Be niceDo not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.

2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes

If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Low-hanging fruit such as random Twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Matrix chat.

3. Content must be relevant

Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.

4. No racism / hatespeech

No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.

5. No politics

We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.

6. No seriousposting

We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.

7. No classified material

Classified ‘western’ information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.

8. Source artwork

If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.

9. No low-effort posts

No egregiously low effort posts. E.g. screenshots, recent reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Matrix chat instead.

10. Don't get us banned

No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.

11. No misinformation

NCD exists to make fun of misinformation, not to spread it. Make outlandish claims, but if your take doesn’t show signs of satire or exaggeration it will be removed. Misleading content may result in a ban. Regardless of source, don’t post obvious propaganda or fake news. Double-check facts and don't be an idiot.
