Currently, I get one copy of each notification from 'here' (where I happen to have this account) for each tab under https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/ that I have opened.

This is a major inconvenience; and - I guess - at this time a not-yet implemented feature.

Beyond the issue tracker (or a PR), is there a forum/community (on Lemmy...?) to discuss such enhancements / dev/programming of and around Lemmy?

This isn't something I can fix, but ye it's a UI issue. I suspect once with move to HTTP calls instead of websocket, this might be better.

The way I understand it, the notification object (given to the browser to perform the desktop n notification) needs a unique tag property. Multiple ones with the same tag are only shown once, then.

I'll take this to the lemmy-ui project.

Ah, rather, it would be a lemmy-ui issue, I gather.
