Anybody know which patent was infringed upon? Are Acceleration Bay patent trolls or is there really something there?
Definitely patent trolls. They don’t use the patents at all and they have a bunch of lawsuits ongoing against other game developers.
Yes, look at the ars article, there are even links to the patents. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2024/05/jury-finds-activision-blizzard-liable-in-23-4m-patent-infringement-case/
The Ars article is definitely better than the gamesindustry.biz one. Patent trolls for sure.
Also, what the fuck is that patent? They are describing a multi-cast over unicast, which is basically a for loop over the participants. Friggin ridiculous.
Hey man, offtopic. (I am a moron, so just curious) I've seen a lot of people putting those links under their coments so I need to ask: How does that work? Just by putting them under your coment you are immediatly under the license? Would you recommend everyone to do that?
It doesn’t work, and it’s not different than those posts you would see on Facebook back in the day “I don’t give Facebook permission to use my photos.”
Got it, thanks
