I just got a job doing 3rd shift grocery stocking, usually they don't allow earbuds but there's no customers so everyone does it anyway.

I'd like to get something ~$30 or less (I don't really care about the sound quality so much as long as it doesn't sound terrible), and battery life lasting at least 8 hours. Wireless because I don't want the wire getting in the way of anything or feeling weird down my shirt.

I got some noise-canceling JBL ones on sale for $90. Pretty good except I have to suck the earwax out of the little speaker grills and then quick-soak it in alcohol sometimes. Maybe they have a cheaper model of them. Battery life and sound quality are pretty good. If Sony has any in your price range I'd go with those.

if youre comfortable with ebay, they have Galaxy Buds Pro new/open box for $60. Those are the only ones i have used and theyve been good, but they hurt my hears(like they dont fit my ears quite right.)

For $30 or less you might have to search in Amazon reviews for the word "hours" and see if anybody can help.

Galaxy Buds sound so good too. Even Crinacle gave them a B or something.

id like them to use on planes but they start to hurt my ears(like they arent the right shape) after a couple hours so i have Sony WXM4000 or whatever for long trips. over hear headphones are always way better for comfort.

Cheapest ones Wal-Mart sells, I'm on board with them cause they work fine and I wreck them about once a year wearing them everyday at work so it's not worth buying expensive ones lol

A few years ago when my job was more physically demanding this was most definitely the way to go. I would lose and break a few pair every year.

I got excited when I figured out its now safer for me to wear a nice set. I still worry about losing an expensive set of buds , pretty much all day I wear them.

Get a decent credit card and milk the warranty service they offer.

Anker's Soundcore brand has been putting out some good stuff lately. Got some headphones and buds from them and have really enjoyed them.

Soundpeats Air3/Air3 HS. Usually under $50. They look Airpods knockoffs, but they're pretty good. I've had mine for about a year. Also doesn't completely seal just in case you need to hear your surroundings.

With that budget I'd probably find something popular on AliExpress with good YouTube reviews (and good seller reputation). Sometimes it's something you can get on Amazon, but it's 30-50% cheaper.

Like look at these ones: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256804804467430.html

Are they any good? No idea. But they're like $3 shipped from a known brand and have good things on paper.

Or maybe something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256804852581959.html

Only downside is you've gotta wait 1-3 weeks to get them.

I had a pair of jbl ones from a few years back. Sound was really good. Almost as good at my apple pro gen 2s. They had all the options you would ever need.

Iirc they were under 100 maple bucks. Sorry I forgot what model. But jbl has been really good for me in general. I love my jbl nc600s for when I want to really vibe on the move.

I switched to an android phone and am seriously thinking about "downgrading" back to a pair of jbls because of the lack of android software on the Apple buds.

I have these ones and liked them well enough that I gifted a pair each to my husband and my brother, who also like them just fine. They're on sale right now for $23. They last around 9-10 hours per charge, and they only take a little while to charge up to full in the case - maybe 15-20ish minutes? I use them 12+ hours every day, usually wear one at a time so I can hear what's going on around me and swap out if I run it down, and only charge the case every few weeks.

I've had the cheapest ones and the nicest ones. Now I just buy whatever decent ones are on sale because they're all trash and either my dog is going to eat them or they're just going to quit working.
