The "Curry" in "Currying" is a reference to logician Haskell Curry

lol i always thought it was an interface courier.

I heard people say couriering.

For those of us inclined to fish nets... Tim Curry is also a fair reference.

But yes - Haskell Curry has leant his name to Haskell and Currying.

Funny thing is that when the creators of the language told H.C.'s widow about it, she said he never really was fond of his name.

Thank you! You would not believe how long I've been trying to figure out where the term came from.

The best explanation I'd heard prior to now was that the practice of composing functions was akin to mixing ingredients for curry, (the food) but I'd never really bought that line of reasoning.

you know it. tho id heard the term working with haskel devs about 10 years ago. they were trying to convert me to the church of curry.
