I still can't wrap my head around the fact there's a group who intentionally named themselves "proud boys" which somehow isn't a group for openly gay men. If they weren't a neo-fascist terrorist organisation I'd think the whole thing was a joke.

A openly group of gay men should now co-opt the name...make an app and website for it and everything. Pride banners for sale on the site. Bumper stickers, everything.

That's such a fucking good idea.

proudboys.com seems to be a dead site, so IDK if it's going to be available to buy.

Edit: I've just made the rash decision to purchase theproudboys.org and theproudboys.gay.

I guess I'll figure out the best way to design a resources page for LGBTQ+ folks. I'm not even LGBTQ+, but i figured this could be a good way to subvert those fascist assholes.

It's been done but I wholeheartedly support bringing it back to the forefront.

Just redirect

[-] aphlamingphoenix@lemm.ee 6 points 5 months ago

This was done on The Other Site a while back. /r/proudboys got taken over and turned into a queer meme page.

[-] snugglesthefalse@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 months ago

Yeah I don't get that either, every time I see the name now I have to think for a second where I'm half sure it's just a gay group.

[-] Soup@lemmy.cafe 3 points 5 months ago

Not only that, but they’re provenly a bunch of cowards.

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 37 points 5 months ago

Yeah, I'm less worried about the PB who have likely peaked than I am groups like Patriot Front, which is much younger in its composition.

While we can, and all should be concerned about the PB, they end up being pretty high profile, and therefore easy to keep track of. They're also very likely 'peaked' in-terms of popularity, whereas groups like Patriot Front were in the ascendancy. Peak PB and bougalou were like, 2019, 2020, 2021. They've been far less active ever since, but this is classic for these movements. When BLM was going strong, this gave them an opposition to recruit around.

Worth noting, Patriot Front had a huge leak of data in 2022.

Patriot Front Fascist Leak Exposes Nationwide Racist Campaigns

You can download it at the following torrent address:

Magnet link.

I happen to be seeding this on a permanent basis. I have a gigabit uplink. Please leach and share. Expose these fucks.

From the comments in the article:

Were those AI generated?

[-] Delusional@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

Yeah they are super proud of supporting a traitor rapist criminal to lead the country because that's what the country needs more of right?

"Fighting solves everything" - These guys are really out there thinking they can punch the genie of social progress back into the bottle. If this were a parody people would say it's too ridiculous to be true.

[-] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 5 points 5 months ago

Come back when you’re Proud Men.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

I don't consider it a bad thing when even more "proud boys" end up in prison.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 5 months ago

But their leader told them to "stand back and stand by." I don't understand? /s
