I'm trying searx, but like duckduckgo, qwant and ecosia doesn't give me direct answer (Firefox both PC/android). Just google and bing works, any idea (maybe some site that use ai directly without agree or choose the model every time like in DDG) My user scenario will be to use it with kiss launcher on android (will be great if someone know a way to use some ai search with it too) Thanks

Kagi is quite good at it. It includes citations even, so you can check if you'd like.

I love it, use that functionality all the time. For generic questions, and especially "How do I do X in Linux?" it's amazing.

see their website but I don't get if it's possible to use it as daily driver in android with kiss launcher as searcher for things, didn't see any Foss app for it too...do you have suggestions?

They do have ways to manually add to browsers, apps and search tools.

If you want to manually set Kagi as a default search engine, use these settings:
• Kagi Search URL https://kagi.com/search?q=%s
• Kagi auto suggestions URL https://kagi.com/api/autosuggest?q=%s

They don't have an app.

Thanks!! I see that it's not free to use...was hoping something "free"

For this, I tend to use the AI features of duck duck go. Just ask the question and get an answer. No account needed.

Not what you asked for, but I'd go for... Chatgpt, claude, mistral, etc. all have free plans that are big enough nowadays... Also, there's ollama. A searxng plugin with the latter would be neat!

Perplexica isn't a plugin for SearXNG, but it's based on that and it integrates with Ollama

Since youre already using searx, perplexica would be right up your alley.

For a direct answer, I recommend using language models that are free from advertisers, trends, and SEO trash (maybe for now).
