KBin isn't showing any of my federated content from my node after this update today. Is federation broken again? It was working great yesterday

Sorry for that, we will be experiencing delays for a few more hours. We are trying to determine the optimal hardware configuration.

@ernest Could you make a post and outline the challenges of the federation? I'd be curious to know how the hardware and the compatibility with lemmy affect the federation overall.

Thank you for the reply! I'm still not getting any federated content either direction with my node from KBin.social

I'm running a KBin node for the record, not Lemmy

Still working on it?

I'm convinced I saw it somewhere in the issues, but could you provide me with the address of your instance now? You can send it via pm, I'll check it right away.

It's showeq.com

I appreciate you checking into it

@ernest I restarted my instance and it seems to be receiving federated content from kbin.social, but any content I post isn't being received by kbin.social.

That's strange, at first glance, everything seems fine. Tomorrow, I'll try to dig into the logs or attempt one thing on a test instance.

@ernest it started working a couple hours ago. No idea why . Thought maybe you knocked something loose

Anyway, there are preparations for improvements in the way kbin is deployed. Soon, there will be a lot of significant fixes.

It may be related to Redis cache or instance key changes.

@ernest It stopped federating again. I restarted my instance, but still nothing I post on my node is coming to kbin.social. If i post to kbin.social, it federates to my node without a problem.

It definitely feels broken. There are still huge amounts of contents and comments not showing up. I posted about this the other day, and the answer that it was working as intended, but there's just too much content missing for it to feel true. I can go to !technology, and see a post with 50+ comments on beehaw.org, but Kbin only shows 3. If that post is even on here.

Federation to Lemmy.ml seems to be broken? Not sure if that was intentional. I know it's a divisive instance.

I was going to ask the same! I tried federating a few magazines from Lemmy this morning; from some servers it worked, from others not.

I haven't seen any federated content at all today short of a few posts here or there. I expected to see more from beehaw but I haven't seen much at all.
