How long until we see Russians driving this in Ukraine?

[-] Assman@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 months ago

Once they run out of tactical golf carts

I think we already saw them run an assault with an armored Ford Model A variant, that they produced under license way, way back when.

I would love a source if this is true. Sounds too good to be.

Then again, Model A under licence would probably be more reliable than any car Russia has managed to put together since.

Edit: This seems to be a source. The video is grainy though, so while it's clear that Russia's equipment is not exactly state of the art it's not confirmed that they still use the GAZ-AA trucks, which is the Russian-produced version of the Ford Model AA (truck version of A).

Maybe I am dumb but how in the hell does someone put together an armored truck?

[-] PugJesus@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago

I presume some sheets of metal and a welding torch

[-] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

They used rivets back then as welding hadn’t really been invented or at least perfected yet

The same way you put together a killdozer.
