The US spends more per capita on healthcare than any other country and still doesn't have universal healthcare. It is not unlikely that in the same manner healthcare companies are fleecing the US government, so are weapon companies.

This $90,000 bag of bushings suggests that the US government isn't really getting its money's worth.

Ask people who've been in the military. "Military Grade" means literally the cheapest it could possibly be.

The US military budget has long been a shell game where they hid decaying infrastructure under imaginary new shit, and now the jig is up. Like a human being at the end of their life, they incur the highest costs on care at the end, for the worst results. American hegemony is in hospice now.
