Is anyone else having Firefox hang when enabling the Addon - Google Search Fixer? Every so often I no longer will be able to do anything on the tab. I have to close tab and open a new tab then search again.

I removed the Addon and don't seem to be experiencing these issues since I removed it. I prefer the format with the addon enabled, so I am hoping there will be a fix. It's been doing this for about a week or so now.

I have experienced this same issue on my Pixel phone and Samsung Tablet.

You could also try using a general user agent spoofer and set it to spoof to chrome mobile when visiting google.com until the search fixer add on is fixed

The addon really only spoofs the UA to a Chrome one, so Firefox gets the same page that Chrome does. In other words, this should also happen if you likewise change it with another addon.

The issue is likely that Google Search's Chrome version is now using some code that somehow hangs on Firefox, and I haven't been able to reproduce the issue to diagnose it, sadly.

Yeah I figured that is what is happening. If it wasn't happening consistently, it wouldn't bother me. It is tough for me to use the default layout of Google on Firefox.

For now I'll try to use the Pixel search bar on my phone for Google results and have the results open in Firefox. I am so used to searching for everything in the browser.

How are you able to do that on Android? I will definitely give that a try

Ah, I'm sorry, I thought you could use any Firefox add on in the mobile app but it looks like it's limited a small list that doesn't include a user agent switcher. Sorry for the misleading suggestion! Another option would be to install the Firefox Nightly version, it's the newest version of Firefox mobile available and hopefully they've solved your issue in that version!
