Americans, the last Trump presidency was a fucking disaster on so many fronts that ended with a massive pandemic that the management of was sabatagoted by Trump as president while also championing an insurrection.

How the fuck is anybody undecided at this point? You have to have had your head in a hole for the last 8 years to be undecided today.

They're less undecided. And more uneducated and unengaged.

It’s embarrassing that ⅓ of eligible voters support trump, despite the fact that he is clearly a danger to America, and that another ⅓ still can’t decide who to pick, despite the fact that only 1 of the 2 (sadly yes-we only have 2 choices) is clearly a danger to America.

I have no idea how anyone can remain undecided at this point.

[-] NineMileTower@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Who is dumber? Trump voters or people that can't decide if they want to vote for him or not?

The undecided by a mile. Trump's cult can at least be somewhat explained away by brainwashing, lack of education and echo chambers - and maybe a side dish of widespread lead poisoning. But people who've been exposed to this shit for nearly a decade without becoming cultists, yet are still going "ehhh, I haven't seen enough yet to make up my mind here..." truly boggle my mind.

You can be smart and evil, but at this point it's pretty hard to be a conscious human engaged in society and not have an opinion either way.

It's Kamala vs Trump vs the couch. I think they are still trying to GOTV for the couch crowd.

[-] Bonifratz@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

Even if you love couches, you should know who to vote for at this point.

Keep them away from Vance though.

This right here. I find myself wondering if these people even exist. I legitimately do not understand how someone can look at these two candidates (plus the US two-party system, which for better or worse is. a. thing.) and say they're undecided.

It's like offering someone a choice between a piece of moldy lettuce and a fresh salad for lunch. These people: "Hm, I'm not really sure. I need more time to get the facts, and as bad as the moldy lettuce looks, are we absolutely sure that salad is really a salad?"

I understand undecided by being hesitant about Harris, especially Republicans who for years have voted for party because that's what you're told to do. I can't see anyone flipping from diehard Trump to Harris, that ship sailed a long time ago. Then there's the undecided who have been apathetic about voting in general for good reasons, which is probably a large part of the group. We have a lot of people in this country who could vote but never do.

[-] Beacon@fedia.io 1 points 2 months ago

And in a similar vein, there are a good number of republican voters who dislike Trump, so all Kamala has to do is make them think that she's not so bad that it would motivate them to vote against her. If would-be Trump voters stay home instead of voting then that improves her chances of winning by 0.5 per vote of theirs

[-] radiohead37@lemmynsfw.com 7 points 2 months ago

How can someone be 50-50 between Harris and that guy? Some people insist in some equivalency that just doesn’t exist.

[-] Krono@lemmy.today 4 points 2 months ago

It's hard to imagine a person over the age of like 25 that is truly undecided.

I think the real demographic in question is thinking something like this: should I go vote to help stop the madman Trump, or should I just not bother because the Democrats are aiding and abetting a genocide?.

Sadly, Harris and Biden continue to push away these critical voters.

[-] twistypencil@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I know someone in Georgia who says she will vote for Trump because she doesn't trust Kamala. I get not trusting politicians in general, but when in that situation, you don't throw everything at the one guy who you can actually trust to fuck everything up. I'm honestly confused how she can rationalize that.
