interesting challenge to my concept of what an "e bike" is that there's no way of pedalling it. that's not as much of a show stopper as the >$1500 price, but kinda curious

The jackrabbit is one device I just don't "get".

There are other foldable that are almost as small, but they are true ebikes with pedals and all. The Jackrabbit is just too compromised, in my opinion. If space is at an absolute premium, then consider a true scooter design or skateboard. If you lost power or they broke down, you could collapse them and carry them on your back. The Jackrabbit, not nearly as convenient if the battery dies.
