Meh. I strapped a car horn to the front of my bike. This also allows you to see who is not wearing a seatbelt, since you can see which drivers leave a dent in their headliner when you honk at them.

I got one of those 72 to 12 volt converter boxes, and my bike has an entire 12v subsystem suitable for powering commodity automotive components. In addition to the horn, I have a working brake and tail light and turn signals. I could add whatever else, if I feel like it -- subwoofer, neon underglow, disco ball, cigarette lighter, etc.

a heavy object in a quickly usable position - metal lock on the handlebars is fine, a brick in one hand is better - works way better than these mostly victim-blaming "tips", in my experience.

I can tell you from experience, riding one handed with a 36" pipe wrench over one shoulder also makes motorists give you a wide berth.

I only ever did it once because I had to transport the wrench, and that fucker was heavy.

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
