Yes. I used both for a while but Reddit got quiet and no point in using Reddit without the apps.
Yes. Fuck reddit
Yep. I was on Reddit for 12+ years, and used Apollo for many years recently. I never used “new” Reddit or the official app. Quit and uninstalled Apollo a few days before the 1st.
Lemmy feels like home. And the fediverse concept is super interesting to me.
I don't even know anyone named Lenny. o.O
Joking aside for the most part I'm already pretty much more on here than there at this point. Only thing I still go there for is the one or two communities that I'm part of there that have no counterpart here. r/typewriters mainly.
Yep, left reddit and came to lemmy.
I’m trying to, but finding a good client and trying to find replacement communities isn’t as straight forward as Reddit was.
I’ll be spending more time on here since I got a random 3 day ban without a reason. This has been happening every few months.
Welcome!
For clients, https://lemmyapps.netlify.app/ has a good list.
For communities, you can use https://lemmyverse.net/communities
Starting the process… now!
Let's go! Welcome to lemmy
I am definitely replacing Reddit with Lemmy/kbin. I am done with Reddit.
I quit reddit June 12th, popped in on a few subs on the 30th to say goodbye, then immediately hopped on Lemmy. It was a nice detox honestly.
Yes
100%....Havent even looked back since last Friday around 7 when RIF stopped working...spent a couple hours finding Lemmy and eventually Liftoff, I have a new home now
I have cut off Reddit since June 12th. It's been a nice detox. While not everything is here it's okay with me. I have a 1 year old to chase around that's been primarily keeping my attention anyways.
Yup, I've done the full switcheroo. Not going to be using Reddit's app and 90% of my Reddit use is on my phone...
Yep
I've mostly moved here, though some of my favorite subs dont have an equivalent community here as of now and I'm a bit bummed about losing them.
Not replacing. But trying to be honest. And I'm liking Lemmy with "Connect" app pretty much.
Can't believe Reddit can't pay to any of these Devs to revamp their shitty low performance app.
But anyway. I'm like the idea of the Lemmy instances etc.
Mostly.
All I'm on Reddit for now is to watch it burn and to participate in the one subreddit I truly care about on there. I'm not participating in anything else on there at all.
Yes. It's different enough that I am not taking it as a one to one replacement, but moving on to a quieter, calmer place.
I thought I might use Tumblr for another angle of replacing part of reddit, but it doesn't seem to be the place for me. I'm not a rabid fan of any one thing, so it seems like so much hype and I don't like the lack of conversation there.
This place has the threaded comments, and respectful conversation.
I went all in on Lemmy and honestly am having a better time than I did on Reddit.
Yeap, I moved a week before on Lemmy. Took couple of days to figure out how it actually works.
During that time opened a bunch of accounts on different instances.
Now I am on a small instance, which is near my location, so speed is good.
I stopped visiting that place since then. Now I only contribute here. I don't want to give them free labor so that they can make money.
I came here before June 15th and Lemmy seems more alive every day. I only ever used Reddit's official app but I haven't been back since the API changes took place.
Been here for a few days. Feels like home
I am 100%. Sadly i don’t think most Reddit users will until lemmy becomes easier to use and gets a functioning IOS app.
