JD Vance lies. He was lying then. He lies now. It doesn't matter what he said years ago. It doesn't matter what he says now. It's. All. L I E S.

He’s a lying liar who lies.

Oh and also an ASSHOLE

[-] Sludgehammer@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

I dunno, he could have sacrificed his decency and integrity for power over the intervening eight years.

[-] NineMileTower@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

That would assume he meant what he said at one point. I can't being myself to believe that.

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

What was his motivation to write that old tweet if he didn't believe it? Get in the pants of a liberal woman or something?

[-] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago

Probably trying to cozy up to one of the other shitbird candidates the GOP was offering up beforing falling in line behind Dementia Don.

I think after seeing how Pence was wedded to the concept of normalcy Trump decided he wanted a full on lickspittle who would throw away any ideals in pursuit of power. Turning on his old ideals made Vance more attractive than anyone who was a fascist from the start.

They say there's no crusader as committed as a convert.

Serious question, how were these not found earlier? Couldn't they just completely scrape his xitter account with keywords pretty quickly?

I think this just illustrates (1) how much Elon has locked down the API access, and (2) how much less Twitter matters in culture now.

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Nah, nothing stopped anyone from manually checking his posts. This is our lazy, useless media.

No it just shows how much journalists single-sourced everything they wrote from Twitter for nearly 2 decades and still haven’t figured out how to do their jobs without it.

They were found earlier, I saw this tweet resurface when he was first chosen as Trumps VP. This article is just talking about old news.

[-] fluxion@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

Trump flip flops on shit like this in the span of hours but people still think he "tells it like it is". It's why it just gets worse and worse, no accountability from their voters, just blind obedience.

When someone is so easily paid-off to say whatever you want them to say, is it a big surprise that no one who is worth anything believes a word out of that clammy pissfart’s mouth?

[-] missingno@fedia.io 9 points 2 weeks ago

Anyone have a Wayback Machine link to it?
