I have 24 GB on my M2. The real news is Apple finally having a good amount of RAM in the base model.

the M4 MacBook Pro will indeed start at 16 GB of unified memory for the base variant

at this point, apple laptops have become fancy tablets but i wish there was viable options for arm processor laptops

the only real difference is that laptops have a track pad. It's literally a fancy tablet with a dedicated keyboard.
