Which honestly became not true pretty much right away - any post about anything remotely controversial or political has just as much toxicity as reddit did imo

[-] mykl@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it’s almost as if it’s people who were the problem all along 😀

[-] Thcgrasscity@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

And here i am just posting stolen memes and pictures of life like a sucker

My only question is if they’re tankies then why even leave Reddit? That’s like a stoner moving to a state where weeds legal then leaving because there’s too much weed.

[-] angstylittlecatboy@reddthat.com 1 points 1 year ago

Tankies are pro-authoritarian but not pro-corporate.

Lemmy's admins were part of a community that got banned IIRC (ChapoTrapHouse)

Funny, my first post was "The beauty of the Fediverse"

[-] wasabi@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago

Where is "Petition to defederate from X because Y?"

[-] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

Wait is Jerboa crap or something? I would switch but no one has given me a good reason to

[-] UnfortunateShort@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I think it's quite alright for an alpha. Pretty modern codebase too, if I'm not mistaken

[-] joshLaserbeam@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

There's Thunder (slick UI), Liftoff (best if you have multiple accounts), and connect (customizable). They are all pretty different so I'd just look at each of them and see what works for you.

[-] revlayle@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I just installed Liftoff, and for an early access app, it's pretty decent

Lemmy devs are/aren't tankies

What does the ml stand for in lemmy.ml? I don't think the instance is based out of Mali...

[-] CooperRedArmyDog@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 year ago

Mali, one of the cheaper TLDs

[-] DoomBot5@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Also know for having one of the highest malware count for a TLD. I migrated from it a few years ago because of that.

[-] CooperRedArmyDog@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 year ago

I would assume it is because you can get free (though super bare bones) .ml TLD, though you do have to pay a little if you want some TLD comforts.

[-] DoomBot5@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, that's the exact situation. I personally chose to pay $5-10 per year and use a less sketchy domain for my stuff.
