Sicko is a 2007 American political documentary film by filmmaker Michael Moore. Investigating health care in the United States, the film focuses on the country's health insurance and the pharmaceutical industry. Moore compares the for-profit non-universal U.S. system with the non-profit universal health care systems of Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Cuba.

On December 13, 2024, in the aftermath of the Killing of Brian Thompson, which renewed public criticism of the health insurance industry, Moore uploaded the entirety of Sicko to YouTube on his official channel,[13] arguing for health care reform as a "solution that does not involve any violence".

Michael Moore made a blog post talking about the fact that Luigi Mangione mentioned his work and how it relates to this documentary and the whole situation: https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/a-manifesto-against-for-profit-health

After the killing of the CEO of United HealthCare, the largest of these billion dollar insurance companies, there was an immediate OUTPOURING of anger toward the health insurance industry. Some people have stepped forward to condemn this anger.

I am not one of them.

The anger is 1000% justified. It is long overdue for the media to cover it. It is not new. It has been boiling. And I’m not going to tamp it down or ask people to shut up. I want to pour gasoline on that anger.

Respect

If everyone who is sentenced to death by denial of healthcare took matters into their own hands, the manageriat would probably have to do something about it, but since this is something they can't seem to price without taking a profit loss or even put a name on, they will just brand it domestic terrorism and call it a day...

Of all the things I’ve seen from Michael Moore, this is the only one I liked. Thought it’s been a while since I saw it, not sure how it has aged.

The thing that kills me is that historically, the main points he made in the film are not hard to fact-check, just like the ones Gore made in Inconvenient Truth aren't either, just like it's not in the least hard to understand why billionaires and large corporations do everything they can to game the system at the expense of the general public, and yet... the body of Americans, decade after decade, still fool around with not bothering to vote and/or voting against their own interests, and... here we are.

So FA, ignore facts and reality over & over again, and FO.
