Not a new discovery, but a discovery nonetheless. Friday afternoon after a long day at work is NOT the time to start up a game of Furnace. I thought my head was going to explode.

Mysterium. It took a couple of play throughs to really get the gist of it, but once you get the hang of being the ghost the rest goes pretty smoothly.

This would be the most recent board game I purchased. The most recent I discovered might be Splendor/Splendor Duel.

Splendor is so much fun until you get your ass kicked by a 7-year old and have to resist the urge to flip the table (jk I love games that are balanced in such a way that less experienced players are still a challenge. but I'm still gonna complain when the kid beats me)

Swearmints. Take 2 words from a pool of 16 to make a slang phrase and then define it. The judge that round picks the funniest. My family was laughing so hard my mom complained of abdominal pain the following day. Stupid, simple, fun, 10/10.

Coyote. A unique bidding/bluffing card game with gorgeous art and foil designs. Easy to learn but hard to master.

Unmatched. A new(ish) character battle game with fun mechanics that are a great balance of intuitive and rewarding to learn. I managed to convince myself not to buy any sets until after I move. (For now. I think I'm going to have a really expensive hobby in the near future...)
