While illegal crossings from Canada have increased in recent years, they are still nowhere near the levels seen at the southern border. Furthermore, the migration flow is not one-sided. In 2023, the last year for which we have statistics at the moment, more people crossed illegally from the United States into Canada than in the opposite direction.

In Fiscal Year 2024, USCBP seized 21,148 pounds of fentanyl at the southwest border, mostly smuggled from Mexico. In contrast, only 43 pounds were intercepted at the northern border. This means that less than 1% of all fentanyl seizures occurred at the U.S.-Canada border.

Thanks for the threats though Don, and thanks everyone for going along with it and believing him.

Why in the hell are we putting tariffs on Canada? What the heck has Canada ever done to us or anyone for that matter?

Tariffs on Canada. Texas has a higher GDP than Canada. How much of a threat can they possibly be?

This is insanity and bullying on an international scale. It is so beneath us to act like this as a country. Donald Trump is lowering the bar for ugly Americans.

Tariff On Canada Not Justified By U.S. Immigration And Drug Claims

It's not about immigration nor opioids.

He needs to show that he's a businessman turning towards being profitable.

He can only do so much with reducing spending. He can't raise taxes. So, tariffs are his beautiful invisible tax on consumer goods that will only hurt the common man.
