Timeline:

Jan 20 - Federal Aviation Administration Director fired.

Jan. 21 - Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen

Jan. 22 - Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded

Jan. 28 - Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees

Jan. 29 - first American mid-air collision in 16 years

By golly, Trump is actually correct. Someone with severe intellectual disabilities did fuck us over.

He blamed it on DEI and NTSB ex chief said trump did more to degrade the safety they’ve built than anyone in 40 years

Yes, he blamed DEI and specifically said it was due to the FAA hiring people with mental and physical disabilities.

As an autistic person (and no, we don't throw Nazi Salutes as stimming...) I honest to fucking god am so numbed by this guy's bullshit that it is kinda incredible.

All I could think of is how the mentally disabled were the first victims of the holocaust in WW2. Starting in 1939 around the time of the invasion of Poland.

The accident is 100% on Elon Musk and Trump. They fired the FAA safety officials and never replaced them, in addition to cutting massive amounts of funding and personnel that made an accident like this inevitable.

Fuck him. Fuck him HARD.

I just want to point out that

Trump announced sweeping personnel changes, including a hiring freeze. But aviation experts said Trump had done little that could have precipitated the crash between a commercial jet from Wichita, Kansas, and a military Black Hawk helicopter. There was simply too little time – less than 10 days after Trump was sworn in – for any of his broadly worded executive orders to have had an effect, experts said.

He is still an asshole, but the firing had, apparently, as much to do with the crash as DAI programms: nothing at all.

He's blaming everything on DEI and the democrats and black people and the mentally disability (even though he very likely has dyslexia, which might explain why people speculate that he is functionally illiterate). Don't let him have it.

And he's an idiot for doing so. Non the less, if experts who know more about the inner workings say that him firing people had nothing to do with it then I will trust them on it.

I know it makes a nice narrative: Trump blames DAI but is actually the one to blame. But if that narrative doesn't hold up to reality then i think we shouldn't push it forward.

It's bad enoth that he uses the death of humans to scream about his wired anti DAI point. He doesn't need to be responsible for the crash in order to criticise that.
