Depends who you play with. We played Ticket to Ride Nordic Countries this weekend. I think it took us 2 hours, maybe longer. At some point my sister revealed to the table she could finish that game in 6 minutes when playing online.
Well, yeah, it does all the fun things for you.
I used to love an Xbox Risk game, and games would take 10-15 minutes because it did all the rolling.
Which was still fun on account of all the pretty pictures of cats fighting robots, but the point is automation makes tasks faster, not a new concept, and not a slight against traditional games.
It's okay because one person is late and they also need to get some dinner down once they arrive. So it's not your fault it runs long.

Listen, an AllPlay bag fits 24 hours of games and I'm gonna fill it up every time, schedule be damned.
And their tables can fit a game for weeks to not be touched until everyone recovers from the flu. (My table has an in-progress game of stuffed fables that has been there for a bit over a week)
My friend: "we only have 2 hours before we leave to get food." Me: "Cool. That's more than we need to play (insert euro-style game). We've got time."
I am not allowed to pick games anymore.
"Yeah, we can get Age of Steam done in 2 hours."
