Our government should be doing stuff like this for everybody. These are the taxes i want to pay

Maybe it will end up under different ownership through time. Meta has a lot of cash though... probably not going anywhere.

Are these cables just for use by Meta properties, or will they sell access to other orgs?

Apparently Google (or maybe Alphabet?) also has a bunch of undersea cables. It looks like those are for just by Google Cloud customers (and presumably) Google itself.

Maybe also helps their vr too for better connection in the metaverse
