Good idea; posted there now. Dunno the steps on community transferring but I'm looking to do that with a few pages; least so my own irl stuff doesn't stop a community dead in it's tracks.
The supply demand issue is definitely a problem. Lot less people will to mod a community, even less people willing to post, than there are communities.
But something as big as !upliftingnews@lemmy.world should generate some interest (though one might wonder if it’s the good kind of interest.)
I would also like to volunteer, although I don't really have any experience modding a lemmy community, is there a guide or something? I would love to help if I can
Approved. Not to my knowledge but if you have any experience modding communities on places like reddit or discord I don't imagine it's too dissimilar. Mostly just look at the guidelines and act on reports of trolling, spam, harassment, the usual.
