Using Boost right now! Love the app, used it on Reddit til the API bullshit. Thank you very much.

[-] Krudler@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I gave you money when Reddit pulled their stunt just so you could have it

You rock, thanks for being awesome and I'll continue to support you and thanks for supporting us

Edit: apparently I forgot to buy the ad-free version of Boost for Lemmy. I just changed that and I would love to recommend other people do the same, I have used your apps for years, and they're fking amazing. You deserve every penny and I'm thrilled to support ongoing development because I know Lemmy is undergoing technical changes and you need to keep hustling to make Boost work.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for supporting my apps, it means a lot to me ๐Ÿ™

I mean you absolutely rule, and I used ad-free versions for a while... But then I thought about it and I realized like maybe just today I won't have takeout and I'll boil some rice with a *soup packet and then you can have the $5 like you deserve it bro

[-] axum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 month ago

That's totally valid, just glad to see you're still alive and well ๐Ÿ‘

[-] Suck_on_my_Presence@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I just saw the dev comment on another thread somewhere saying they had been busy but we're working on an update that will come out soon.

[-] taiyang@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

I'm still using it even with ads, so I'm glad they're still alive. Idk why, though. What features do we even lack?

[-] UndercoverUlrikHD@programming.dev 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)
  • modlog
  • admin tools
  • the instance side bar is still missing
  • formatting of markdown like spoiler tag
  • a way to view the bottom bar where often the "legal" url for site policies are
  • a page to view registration applications
  • a way to switch between accounts while staying on the same post/while commenting. The reddit version had this feature
  • a way to configure what language you are commenting/posting with

I hate it doesn't have algorithms to recommend some new subreddit or whatever it's called here and that it doesn't show more the subreddits that I visit most often, I'm tired of seeing so many r/worldnews or wtv, I want to see less posts of it and because it was being annoying, I ended up unsubscribing. I go to reddit more often because of this

Edit: clarification

[-] Madbrad200@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

You can filter communities yourself by blocking them. Or subscribe to communities and curate your own feed, just like you can do on Reddit.

I have a list of casual communities here https://lemmy.world/post/2216085 you can use as a starting point. Curating your own feed is the best way to browse Lemmy imo, but if that's too much, don't be afraid to block away.

[-] EcoByte@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

I don't want to block away, I just want for it to show less, on reddit I don't need to do anything, it does everything for me

[-] Madbrad200@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago

Then subscribe to communities and curate your own feed. Reddits r/all feed has always been unbearable for me

[-] EcoByte@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

How the hell do I do that?

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 0 points 1 month ago

What do you mean "based on what you watched"?

Do you mean

a. Posts you already read show up again? (There is an option to hide read posts)

b. You want entire communities not to show up? (That is why you should subscribe to those you want and use the "subscribed" feed or, if you want to use the "all" feed, simply block the communities you dont want to see)

[-] EcoByte@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I mean showing more posts from the communities that I see frequently, all I want is more equilibrium, it can show up posts from r/worldnews and r/sciencememes but not too much and showing more posts from other communities that I am subscribed not just a few. Until then I will use reddit more often

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 0 points 1 month ago

So essentially a new sorting option, different from hot/active/scaled... which sorting do you currently use?

[-] EcoByte@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Hot subscribed, I literally just want what reddit has in this regard

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You should be able to sort your subscribed feed by hot, scaled etc already. That is implemented. Click on the symbol with the multiple lines in the top bar.

[-] EcoByte@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Yes, I know that, not sure how that helps seeing less posts and more posts of some subreddits

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 0 points 1 month ago

I get what you mean now. That's a request that should be made to the lemmy devs, not the apps btw.

I think spoilers are still not working. (Please do not interpret "still" as impatience).

spoilerTest this spoiler

Edit: yup, still not working.

Edit 2: the new 1.0.15 interested support for spoilers, yay!

[-] rmayayo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Spoilers coming for the next beta

[-] dbx12@programming.dev 1 points 1 month ago

Yay, where do I sign up? (Jk, I'm already a beta tester)
