  • Brush: Semogue Owner's Club (cherry wood and boar)
  • Razor: Heljestrand 14 (7/8", full hollow, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Le Père Lucien – Cologne Fougère
  • Post Shave: Mennen – Skin Bracer
  • Fragrance: House of Mammoth – Tobacconist

Really enjoying this sweet green LPL fougère. I'm continuing my run through all my 14-style razors in impatient anticipation of the Moarteen. The Heljestrand is my latest addition to the family, and it's a loose interpretation of the 14 form factor: the grind seems heavier than Filarmónica, Henckels (including Friodur) and Böker 14s, and it lacks the typical lightly curved spine and slight smile, a bit like the Thiers Issard version.

I like the Fatip Gentile a lot. It's a nice mild razor. Maybe not as efficient a Tech, but pretty darn good.

Do you have a goal in mind for this blade?

[-] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 1 week ago

Nope, just using it because it's great and I'm not bored of it yet.

  • Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations "Stardust" - TurnNShave 26mm shoat
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Titanium Legacy Razor
  • Blade: Personna - Lab Blue (1)
  • Lather: Mike's Natural Soaps - Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter - Lonestar Aftershave splash
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented Aftershave balm
  • Fragrance: Barrister and Mann - Ubrique EdP

Superlative 3 pass shave from the Legacy. It's such a good razor.

The shoat knot is finally starting to feel well broken in. Quite nice to use as long as I load enough soap.

I like Mike's. I hope to pick up Vetiver when it's back in stock.

Day 9 of APRil felt like a fougere day so I went with SJW and FR. Very nice, bright ferns

Forgot to post this yesterday. The soap is good, but I can't really identify individual notes. I should put my Puma back on the stones. The aftershave (which contains horse milk) is surprisingly alcoholic, and had a good sting to it.

@djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social, the soap is on the way, with triplicate customs declaration!

  • Post Shave: Seaforth! - Heather

I get a note from Heather that reminds me of anise, but it’s not listed as one. Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! Heather - Notes: Oakmoss, Bergamot, Lavender, Coumarin, Clary Sage, Geranium. Which one of these would I be detecting?

[-] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 4 points 1 week ago

I find the Clary Sage to be pretty strong in Heather. It doesn't smell like anise, but maybe it has a similar sort of "sharpness" to it.

Yeah I think you’re right. Not the same scent but that initial sharpness off the top.
