Seems to have the right tone, you also get a clip of Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon.

Will the whole series be in German is that just the name? Who is Mur? Why is he "The bot?"

You’re misreading the text flow—the title is actually “MDBUEORRT”, which is obviously Dutch.

Fucking hell, now it's all I can see 😅

Oh, please don't fuck this one up, too, Apple. Not this time. Please.

All the Apple original series I've watched have been excellent so far so here's to hoping for the best. The trailer was good enough in my opinion.

You like Foundation?

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Yeah this is too good of a book series for me to be OK with them fucking up.

But if they manage it well I might hope they do a locked tomb series. Assuming sufficient privilege to go off the rails.

Hello there. I'm going to say something really absurd so bear with me. I am a time traveler from the year 2035. Elon musk is secretly researching on time machine. I was traveling back in time to stop the attacks of 9-11 from happening. But the fuel came too short on my time machine. The time machine uses coke to refuel. I would gladly buy it myself. But the problem is, in the future the currency has changed. So I have no choice but to ask you for the help. Please lend me three dollars so that I can buy 2 cans of coke. The small amount of money can save hundreds of lives. Im not simply begging either. My employer will pay me a huge amount of money for this task. I'll keep a large portion ready for u in 10 years.

Thank you.

I'll tell you, brother, if I had coke, I wouldn't be sharing.

I think I have read all the stories. Not once had I imagined the bot as anything other that androgynous but slightly feminine. Did I miss some passages?

[-] StartWin@reddthat.com 4 points 1 month ago

That's how I read them, too. But my colleague watched the trailer with me and was surprised they were n't more buff and masculine, because that's his read on the character. He thought Murderbot thought like a guy.

I think its great people can have such connection to a character but wildly different interpretations of whatb they look like!

[-] JaymesRS@literature.cafe 4 points 1 month ago

I think it's left pretty open to interpretation. Murderbot is strongly agender in the books, but the text doesn't specify androgyny that I can recall. I do know the Martha Wells has been pretty involved in this and seems to really support the interpretation that Apple TV+ has developed.
