Recently started using mail merge.
Combined it with some vba scripting(didn't learn it well, just found some scripts on the net and modified them a bit) so that I could get pdf files for emailing by clicking a macro button from an excel sheet.

Also, go to use the info about the keyboard mouse right click button when someone's Right Mouse Button was not working. https://www.online-tech-tips.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Windows-Right-Click-Button.jpg

I mentioned only computer things because of recency, but please do share your experiences in other topics too.

If that's how they place the blame, then that'd be cool.

But other than that, in reality, it lilely seems to become a blame game, where they don't want to look at why they lost the trust of the folk who they are blaming.

Though, I'm just seeing online interactions. Maybe offline interactions ae much more decent and useful.

Not a USAmerican, but by that logic:
Are Kamala, her party and her supporters who couldn't get those people to vote for Kamala also responsible for the increased suffering?

Are they responsible for the people not being convinced that the suffering would be lesser under Kamala?

Did Kamala and party show significant effort and good faith to woo those people?
Or was it the 99% Hitler vs 100% Hitler thing? Asking since most online discourse I saw on it here in lemmy was like that, where they're saying Trump would be worse, instead of saying that Kamala would be better, de-escalate stuff etc.

Indeed a meme.

Our constitution asks us to develop scientific temper. But we have stuff like this.

Our leader is unaffected. Indian scientific temper > Superstition

His party lost majority and had to form a coalition govt. Plans fro amending the consitution put on hold.

Thank you. Been thinking about finding good leftist quotes to as my phone wallpaper. Are there more, shorter quotes?

I'm curious about the intro reading list. I've tried the manifesto and listened to some audiobooks by Dessalines. Are there newer articles that are recommended, that summarise/improve the pre-existing content? Especially ones that talk about how the things were/are to be applied.

Is there incessant breeding?
Aren't TFR's going down in most regions?

The best thing then would be focusing on the places that lag behind.

In my opinion, the best initial steps would would be increased literacy and scientific temper together with good quality public education and healthcare
Together with properly planned mechanisation n automation this would help most people.

Been following Orb. Seems quite decent.

VLC is awesome. Rcently started getting frequent updates too.

MPV is another nice one. Tried it out recently. The user script option seems very cool: SkipSilence, SkipChapters etc.

VLC for vids and audio I want to watch normally and MPV for ones where I want SkipSilence(Got used to that feature thanks to Newpipe and Pipepipe)

Started doing simple dumbbell exercises recently and was curious about what others are doing.
Been trying simple neck exercises too. No weights, just chintucks and isometrics.

Please do share your experience/suggestions/opinions on the it and related topics like sports, calisthenics, general physical health etc.

Do you know any exercises that are rare? Or ones that seem special to your locality?

Regarding food:
How do you meet your protein or calorie goals? How do you track it? Especially food that is local to your place.

On a tangent:
Are there cool plants that are less known or that'd be useful if more people tried growing and including them in their diets? Do mention your locality or climate of the plant.

I do get things done. But sometimes I think that I could have started some things early, avoid rush. Also a sort-of negative perfectionism that does the opposite, where I end up delaying the start while thinking about the best time to start and how to avoid possible trouble etc.

How do you categorise and adjust accordingly about such stuff?
If you are someone who got out of or reduced such behaviour(or helped someone to do that), what were the things that you/they did? How did you/they start out and progress etc.

Thanks in advance

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_Agreement
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov%E2%80%93Ribbentrop_Pact

Recently got banned in a community when I brought it up, when they talked about the latter.

I'm Indian, didn't really have to read too much(on such treaties and other stuff. We do learn about the dates, major groups involved and our own people) about WW1 and WW2 before getting on the internet forums.
But how is it in Western countries?

Also, is the Bengal famine of 1943 taught?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943
I only got the gravity of the situation after reading about it and seeing pictures on the net.

Are there any other events that should be more known by others, in your opinion?

I hope this is not too political. If it is, do forgive me, I'll delete this.

Edit:
Recently read about the Travancore famine of 1943, that killed around 90,000 people. It happened in my state, Kerala. But I never really knew about it.

Apps that I know:

  • For images - Pocketpaint, Freepaint
Fossify Gallery has a basic editor with draw, crop and filters. Tux paint is also nice to draw stuff.
  • For video
    • Video transcoder allows basic cutting of audio n video.
    • Saw an app called Bunny media editor, that allowed basic image and video cropping and cutting.
    • I've also heard that some people use Termux for it

Are there other apps like these?
Which all apps do you use to edit images/videos and make memes etc?

One that use the camera to give an approximate distance between two objects?

Tape measure has some features, but needs a known reference object in the same plane. And most of the predefined objects are not common where I live. It does have an option to define custom reference objects.

But are there any apps that do not need a reference object?

Thanks in advance.

I've recently read about it, and it seems straight forward.
Materialism makes sense and things getting resolved through the resolution/interaction of contradiction/opposing forces too.

Though curious on how it is used as a tool to analyse and resolve problems.
Especially in the lives/localities of those who study/use it.

I don't much about philosophy, so forgive if I made any wrong assumptions or if this question is weird.
Please do recommend any online sources that may help me there, in that case.

Also, would it be better to ask this in another sub, as this question maybe political?

NetGuard - https://f-droid.org/packages/eu.faircode.netguard/
TrackerControl - https://f-droid.org/packages/net.kollnig.missioncontrol.fdroid/

How was your experience with them? Differences in battery life etc.

Another doubt:
I had tried NetGuard some years ago to restrict internet access of apps like Gboard n Gdrive(I use the pdfviewer associated with it. Any lightweight foss alternatives to it?).
Was planning to use it again, but saw that eventhough they have a recent update, their Github doesn't allow issues and the latest pull request are from 2023. Is there some change in the app? Have they transferred to Gitlab or Codeberg.

I don't know much details about programming, so asking the doubt here because of the Simple apps transfer issue that I heard recently.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Mentioned the usecase for gdrive
