Especially with the Easy Install Bundle for Windows. Sets everything up for you.

If you're using it to browse webpages on the clearnet then yes, it's slower, because that's not the use-case for i2p. I've seen speeds around 1MBit/s which isn't lightning fast, but also not terrible for an anonymous network.

Brussels is waiting for Hungary to pay €200 million and lift its long-standing restrictions on the right to asylum.

Norway is a rule taker that pays into the EU without any influence. They're also tiny and they know it. This is said with love from a neighbour who would love to see Norway join the EU.

I don't think the UKs collective ego would allow them to join on Norway terms.

It also fails to mention that the organising group is far right. So maybe it evens out?

OpenStreetmap as an alternative to the closed source maps.

OrganicMaps or OsmAnd to navigate and StreetComplete or EveryDoor to improve it.

It's the same AfD that has the same talking points as the Russia linked National Front in France. What a weird coincidence, right?

[-] CAVOK@lemmy.world 49 points 6 months ago

Everything bad isn't Russia. Exploiting bad things to benefit from it is probably Russia.

We know Russia influenced brexit, that they own LePen and that they fund various far right groups in Europe. They're probably trying to exploit this too.

So, basically brexit then.

[-] CAVOK@lemmy.world 29 points 8 months ago

Thanks. I'll continue my small contributions then.

If anyone want to help I can recommend StreetComplete. It's a bit like pokemon go, but you'll help improve the map of the world instead. Only in android now I think.

I'm contributing to openstreetmap because I think there should be a free alternative to Google or Apple maps.

Am I running the risk of having my contributions stolen?

If the workers of Spotify had been unionized then the CEO Daniel Ek wouldn't have been able to fire 1500 people by sending them an email.

“In metric, one milliliter of water occupies one cubic centimeter, weighs one gram, and requires one calorie of energy to heat up by one degree centigrade—which is 1 percent of the difference between its freezing point and its boiling point. An amount of hydrogen weighing the same amount has exactly one mole of atoms in it. Whereas in the American system, the answer to ‘How much energy does it take to boil a room-temperature gallon of water?’ is ‘Go fuck yourself,’ because you can’t directly relate any of those quantities.” ― Josh Bazell, Wild Thing
