I feel like if the structure was above the earth, somewhere in the air between two points up in the sky it might be more interesting vs helicopters and airplanes but on earth, one big crack and it's goners

Nah you can always make new things that aren't toasters lol just harder to be more imaginative

[-] Cannacheques@slrpnk.net 1 points 10 months ago

Nah those things are too wishy washy, bank account I can kinda understand but there's a lot of rich dumb cunts, just look at Trump

Bro, you can't seriously expect one guy can't fix everything. Just look at all the wars in the middle east, if China keeps their nose out of it, you don't say a thing, but Biden says he's hands off, you play the white burden card.

If he's given money to Israel to sort things out, that might be on the assumption that being one of the premier democracies in the region, they'd lead by example, if he's wrong technically he's done nothing, he's only given money, money being the closest thing to freedom. If shit goes down that's for Benjamin Netanyahu to answer for, not Biden.

If anything he's more responsible than Trump and others before him including Bush, he's not going around planting fascist suggestions or starting wars in the middle east, he's simply allowing truth and freedom to prevail while standing his ground.

Cheaper laptops and old computers for everyone could start with switching to Linux

[-] Cannacheques@slrpnk.net 1 points 10 months ago

Agreed. There usually needs to be a big demand for a shift. Kind of like with Android development. Things tend to slow down once they run out of good ideas.

For Microsoft I think the next big move could be for a whole solar system calendar, e.g. symmetry 454, then synchronise that with a local family/group calendars, social events integration etc, throw in something like bing coin, then throwing it all into a big new multi compatible platform available to all of XP, 7, 10 and 11, add some games shit in there to compete with steam deck, then throw in some hardware CPU cooling accessories to prop up the trash software until they spend the next ten years updating like Lenovo bridge, it so that they can let optimizing their software enough to not fuck things up.

As for how the hell they plan on making money from it all, I suspect that the accessories will eventually lead to subscription costs for certain OEM support. This will encourage OEM manufacturers to engage directly with consumers and retailers to invest in the recycling process so that they can jack up prices across the board.

Use this money to add their shit into some NASA computers for extra hype. No big long term plan, just getting their logo and their foot in the door with the next big direction for computing lol

It's called federalism. It provides everyone the most freedom and follows both republican thinking in small government, less bureaucratic paperwork for the top, and more democratic policy making.

eg. if you live in a state where there's a huge meth problem, but no marijuana problem it doesn't make sense to be telling cops to keep chasing the one stoner in town or to go after some asian guy who just looks suspicious for wearing sunglasses.

Allowing for state by state discretion also means that the DEA and local police can be free to collect more targeted and detailed information to hunt who is producing more suffering.

I feel like impairment should be based on eye movement, motor movement, reaction time and focus, like how quickly you can readjust a knob to 1.1v after while someone's eating chips or blasting a siren next to you. If your getting it done in under 1 minute your fine, but if you take over one minute to do it you may or may not be stoned as fuck, but your definitely incapacitated in some form.

Even without de- or re-scheduling, I think the very fact that most stoners and your average casual user of marijuana is not a hardcore criminal gives people in government a bit more to think about.

If they were to allow the DEA and police to apply discretion on an individual basis, rather than simply seek to create punishment for the sake of tax dollars, you'd see our better angels shine through.

Even if you worked for the DEA, day in day out with a MDF board with pins and string lines of whose who, bank statements, phone tracking, GPS car trackers like in NCIS, and had to hunt some evil ass people/drug traffickers, terrorists and spies everyday, your average stoner guy isn't big fish to fry.

Hell if anything, for the average guy on the street or even just a news reporter, it's probably a joke of a case to be thrown out along with the lead investigators.

If you really wanted to find criminals just go to East Europe or the middle east and pretend to be a photographer or reporter, you'll probably not manage to arrest a single person, and maybe even die, but you'll sure as hell learn more about how the CIA and others in power keep accidentally creating war zones, and why both USA and China has so far done a good job to avoid getting involved in the Israel Gaza conflict.

Well isn't that some chaotic thinking

[-] Cannacheques@slrpnk.net 1 points 10 months ago
