Let's see if they can somehow manage to make it even more of a performance train wreck than the last one.

True but this is why we have trusted groups instead of googling software and running the first exe you find. This application of common sense applies to many facets of life.

The hero we need

And people bought it while it wasn't being enforced so it's still sifting goalposts post-purchase.

Then what do you suggest?

I don't have personal history with romance scams but this video is a good example of other sites being used. In this instance it was Instagram but I've heard of Facebook stories in the past. I'd say it can happen on any website that is designed to have some personal level of interaction, so not the standard screaming match that is Twitter but I wouldn't be surprised to learn of them happening there too.

For avoiding it, it's as simple and harsh as "don't accept invites from people you don't know" and "don't send money to people you don't know". Going beyond romance scams, such as hacked accounts from friends who are "suddenly in trouble", do everything possible to be sure it's them before even looking at a payment link. Consider if this is a person who would ask you for money (some people are too proud to do so and a scammer wouldn't know that), get them in a call and have a full conversation with them so you can be 100% sure it's them.

Back on romance scams specifically, particularly good scammers can wait months or even a couple of years before they pull on the money thread. It's more likely they'll start off with actually paying the person back (they do this by having multiple victims on the hook at once and just shuffling money around between them to look legit). Slowly but surely, the figures will increase before there's a sizeable honey pot before they dip.

Golden rule I can say for anyone is only send money to someone you are presently physically looking at, otherwise only send money you're comfortable with never getting back. This also applies to buying stuff for them with a "I'll pay you back". If you're the sort of person who would feel bad about not helping out a friend in need, you are the target. It's harsh to say "don't help the people you think are friends" as a blanket statement but it's having absolute rules such as "don't add people" and "don't send money. EVER" that will keep you out of danger.

For five hours? There are plenty of people who wouldn't even be able to get it downloaded in that time frame. Stingy bastards

For the majority of disc-based media, any large store would do the job too if we're talking post apocalypse situations but a lot of games these days are absolute crapfests without the plethora of updates. As for servers, I did specifically mean places to download from, not stream. I'd already be downloading every film and TV show I could think of I might like or have already seen and think I'd like to rewatch someday.

That said, the internet is also my means of satisfying my social needs since all of my friends live in different countries. Without that and them, the dire loneliness sets in real quick like.

And libraries have a lot of books, I agree and I already enjoy reading but I have relatively niche tastes that would likely only be catered to by large libraries so the vast majority of a small library's collection would be worthless to me. I know the end of the world is more a "any port in a storm" kind of situation but if I'm just running down the clock before the last human alive becomes the last human to have lived, I'm not really looking to pad that time out by reading How to Win Friends and Influence People or 15 different DIY books.

Sadly, data DLC is older than video game DLC if you live in archaic areas where ISPs offer whatever unfavourable terms they wish.

Is there a certain morbidity to the Spanish culture my high school Spanish teacher chose to leave out or something?

Edit: Also, my Spanish is kinda rusty at this point but couldn't this also be interpreted as "Everyone exists only to die"?

Ask your family to get you a globe or am atlus for your birthday. I generally agree with the intent of your message but the US has no ties to this situation. Nintendo and Pocketpair are both Japanese companies. From the country of Japan, one of those things we call a large amount of land that isn't one of the 50 states of the universe.

Maybe don't estimate every game you release is going to make a billion in profit. Maybe the execs shouldn't be taking the bonuses they are. And maybe, just maybe think of the individuals when you start over-hiring. Getting really tired of theae headlines of layoffs because of short-sighted decisions for game releases.
