Oh, am I talking to myself? Hah.

Yeah, I wish I had all the stuff I torrented in high school. Lost treasure.

I think I have done that a couple of times intentionally. Seems like one of those cognitive dangers that is harmful because you know it.

Thank you for your concern, hah!

Yeah, I admit the mistake happened long before last night.

I am really keen on Lutris. Nothing beats it for downloading GOG games, not even the galaxy launcher.

You may be happy, or perhaps dismayed, to learn that I finally installed Bazzite on my desktop.

I did a bit tonne of sampling, with BlendOS and Vanilla, trying things out, but Fedora wins.

I have Fedora Silverblue on a usb in case Bazzite does not like my computer, but I think I have done enough hopping for a lifetime.

I swear I will just jump onto the NIXOS (or guix) bandwagon if I ever decide to switch again.

I know. It is not great. I ended up using FFMPEG to upscale to 4k using lanzcos filter.

Not the crispest, but vastly more watchable.

I will try AI upscaling when I can.

I have tried to use and like KDE so many times... I always go back to XFCE or GNOME.

Yeah, there is a pervasive "wrongness" to it that I just could not stand, like I took off my front door or something.

Delisting should be a crime.

Nope, I am starting to see software like books. Maybe the author has more to say, but barring any grammatical or logical errors, they are basically evergreen.

Using Windows made me appreciate Linux harder than I ever have. Windows just feels gross now.

[-] DidacticDumbass@lemmy.one 4 points 1 year ago

Hahaha! I think developers seem to prefer it? My uses cases are 3D modelling and game engines like Blender, Cura, and Godot.

All those need to be the latest because often the updates are tremendous (as in great or awesome), making the software so much more functional and better to use.

Damn, alright. I am starting to get the hate for it. I think I am blinded by the sheer convenience of it. Also, I am probably sleeping on more up to date repositories that gets me what I want without using flatpaks.

Linux Mint has been babying me though. I love the comfort, and cinnamon is everything I need in a DE. I will need to see what I can do.
