Does BSD count as fake Gnus?

so what's the fucking point?

I've heard that covering up abhorrent crimes takes special amounts of money.

But maybe they'll release the Epstein files any day now to prove that rumor wrong, and we can all relax.

Linux Mint is so nice.

I would turn off "Secure Boot" in BIOS before doing the upgrade.

It officially works, but can throw in unnecessary challenges - and Mom probably isn't traveling with national secrets next week anyway.

Google has made it extremely hard to degoogle.

Just remember that there are no nice reasons why they are working this hard to keep your phone captive.

We can argue about how bad it will get, but there's only worse things coming from this effort.

if they want a document printed they just go out to some print shop.

In fairness, it can be expensive to stock the holy water necessary to fend off the demons that inhabit all printers.

I imagine that Brennan Lee Mulligan walks a fine line as a public figure.

He still plays D&D often enough to (seemingly) not alienate people at Wizards whose work helped launch his career.

But he also plays significant amounts of other games, including some that I think are Indie developers, like Kids on Bikes.

I'm sure he's aware of the issues and concerns in the community around D&D under Wizards - and probably shares many of those same concerns, as a fellow player and DM.

But, yes, the idea that Brennan secretly hates anything sounds pretty silly. Brennan has been pretty direct with his epic rants about things he really hates.

Thank you for sharing this. Patman was a delight. He made some of the best "History of" videos for classic games.

RIP Patman QC. He will be missed.

One of the first messages translated:

"Are the monkeys listening? Shit. How long have they been listening? I should provide some context for what I bubbled yesterday..."

Or do I just have a really weak electric stove?

I think you might just have a really weak one, or poor compatibility pots? I've had both, and if anything my gas burners feel a little slower and cooler than my induction stove did.

I'm constantly amazed that this is a hard subject for people. As the golden rule says:

"I'm not going to reach into your pants, without an invitation. And I prefer no one reach into my pants, because we barely know each-other. Whatever someone tells me is in their pants, I'll take their word for it, as long as they haven't flashed me in public. Also, shitting in practically transparent stalls is awful for everyone, and showering with strangers sucks. Let's all just do less of both."

Where do you get books for the Kindle if not at Amazon?

  • BAEN sells eBooks directly.
  • Libby has various options to check out eBooks from local libraries.
  • Project Gutenberg has free and DRM free eBooks for most books in the public domain. A huge number of classics are available this way.

When I look for a specific book, I usually find that simply searching for "BOOK NAME purchase DRM free” results in plenty of results.

Sadly, I find it dramatically easier to find a free DRM free copy of most eBooks than to find somewhere to legally purchase a paid licensed DRM-free copy.

As a flawless upstanding citizen, I never partake of such amazing convenience, myself, of course.

Movie theaters are really expensive, so I'm not paying attention to what Hollywood is making right now.
