Upvoted bc VC eventually means enshittifiication. But with xz getting back-doored recently, what is the middle ground that keeps these things sustainable financially and operationally?

Just wondering if local communities could use kbin that way.

"Violence against civilians will have consequences". I wish I could believe that. I think most Israeli's who destroy the lives of Palestinians will enjoy it without consequence.

When I'm on Firefox, I can attach an image to a "Photo" post, but the upload button doesn't do anything. On Safari, I can't even attach the image in the first place.

How is everyone else getting around this (or is it a universal problem)?

That U2 album that was included free with peoples iPhones that time.

Christopher Walken is so good in Weapon of Choice that he made me like the song https://yewtu.be/watch?v=wCDIYvFmgW8

As mentioned in another comment, the link takes us to the parent page where you can choose a brand (and presumably then, a model) of car to learn about.

I noticed that Mazda isn't included among their brands so I sent a suggestion, thank you! I didn't know that they provided privacy support for so many devices - they even have the Nintendo Switch in there and all kinds of categories: https://foundation.mozilla.org/en/privacynotincluded/

I’m sure I’ve seen comments indicating that people can do this.

I’ve been playing the wipeOut rewrite in my browser.

I also found browser-playable arcade games like Daytona USA on this website.

No registration is required and I’m amazed at how accessible and well-performing these are. Can anyone recommend others?

They’re a bit more than injured if I understood correctly.

I’m a non-gamer looking for recommendations please. I saw the Quake II refresh and it makes me want to explore/roam some 3D environments again. But I’m really not into the intensity of any of the shooting games.

Tomb Raider was fun but I found combat hard to control.
Half-Life had great environments but too much shooting for me.
Portal was great fun but I eventually found it repetitive.
Beyond a Steel Sky is one of my favorites although the pace of exploration is a bit slower than others.

I’m tempted to give a game like Myst a try but the puzzles sound a bit too involved for me. Basically something without much stress or excessive friction against exploration of the environment. Thanks

I’m on Linux and macOS.

Can anyone who has experience with both share a recommendation? I’m interested in the user side of things for ebooks (no comics) but also ease of installation and maintenance.

I currently use Calibre-web and while it runs well, I find it cumbersome to organize my books through it.

Edit: great responses, thank you. I do like the idea of just having the epubs in a folder and share those but at least on my setup, the desktop Calibrw app doesn’t open libraries that are mounted from remote locations. They also advise against it.

So for now I guess it’s a choice between a local folder or calibre -web
