I switched to just using toilet paper. Not sure how much safer it is.
It's hard for men. Big stores that just squeeze in a small section in the back for men. Trying 3 different items: one's too big, one's too tight, but they're all the same size.
It takes some time to block out stuff to make Lemmy usable. So much anime, bots and dumb American politics.
It's nice there are a bunch of apps for Lemmy, but using it without an app is not very welcoming. It needs a lot of improvement (e.g. manually compose urls to subscribe to communities on other servers).
I hate those long distance busses. If you sit up straight, the headrest is in your back. If you slouch down to get your head at the headrest so you can get some rest, the question becomes where to put your legs without pain and discomfort.
It's also fun that we can go to Germany and still get cash out for free whereas Germans have to pay a fee for using their own ATMs.
what's with these texts without any punctuation where everything becomes one long sentence and you have to read it three times to figure out how to read it I feel like it's getting more common
Many people my age have terrible boomer parents who just had kids because "that's just what you do". They didn't even consider you could just not make babies.
Maybe we just think more for ourselves than the older generation.
I got a tour of the place where they proudly show these cats in the most horrible conditions. Also, it doesn't even taste good.
If you're not a wage slave and have a bigger home, think of all the hobbies and interests you can pursue, new things to learn, time to meet people and space to host them, charity work... And you have the energy for things that a job would drain from you otherwise. I think life would be drastically different.
I accidentally watched a YouTube video on a browser without blocking. It started with an ad. I thought I'd just endure it this time. Then another ad. OK, just this time then. Suddenly, another ad in the middle of the video. I gave up. Who'd have the patience to sit through this?
Then there's Google's habit of completely ignoring the browser's language settings so I have to sit though ads I don't even understand.
The majority of those visits were to sites that allow users to download the audio from YouTube URLs.
This is not piracy. We've always been allowed to record e.g. radio and TV for personal use.
I wouldn't take it that far, just as far as my finger can go
