Oh boy you are in for a treat. Essentially John Harvey Kellogg was really against masturbation or sex of any kind (He and his wife had separate bedrooms and it is believed he spent their honeymoon writing.) and thought the secret to a good life was eating plain food and good posture.

To quote a poet

Why are we calling these guys masterminds? They're not masterminds!

Imagine being vaguely aware of what plasma is but you've never seen a wheelbarrow.

OK, I know that's not true and he's just trying to sell books but it's funny when they go too far and start believing their own bullshit because they have forgotten that humans are capable of things.

Impersonating exists, the difference there is if someone was impersonates you and says something defamatory, you can sue that person, what this article is suggesting is if I made an AI model of your voice I am not liable for anything I make that voice say

This guy is somehow going to become even worse when he finds out about trusts and whatever he thinks those are from his cursory glance at Wikipedia

I love the "view source" commentary and the fact that you can grab the ogg oir mp3's there.

The maintainers of DHCP can't even be bothered standardising a query to check if an address is currently in use, doubt they could take on being a CA at the same time

I'm a little shocked it's not a Watchy with a custom app on it

I doubt that's actually the reason. This seems to line up with the roll out of end to end encrypted calls through Messenger, at the same time calling is being depreciated on the Facebook Portal device. My guess is either the library is too big or they don't have the staff working on the Lite projects like they used to. Bulk of the target audience for Messenger Lite would probably be using WhatsApp.

But the team may have been gutted with all the Metaverse obsession followed by the AI obsession.

I never perceived this could even be a possibility, I recall reading this in a bad sci-fi novel once and I thought it was dumb for a multitude of reasons:

  1. It's extremely unlikely that there would be any benefit. Most people would have their devices in a bag or pocket.
  2. In cases such as an event where a terrorist attack occurred, there would likely be people recording it anyway and likely happy to had over their footage anyway.
  3. There is no piece of software out there which could accurately determine what devices are in a particular area.
  4. There is no government dumb enough to propose or support the ability to monitor citizens like this unless they are already in, or close to being in, a dictatorship.

And yet the justice minister thinks it is positive that this would "only be used dozens of times a year"

WTF.
