I switched from Franz to Ferdi to Ferdium and then I noticed all it's doing is creating PWAs in profiles, which made me use Chromium with some cookie deletion and privacy add-ons and just install the applications I needed as PWAs. You can start Chromium with a separate profile and auto open all of the apps which you can't install as PWAs in tabs, and you can move the tab bar to the left side. Then you basically have Ferdium with extra steps and better efficiency.

it could be something like this AI will never remember or save the data it is analysing.

How would you know? In fact, how do you know Proton Mail is not a front shop for the NSA exfiltrating all.your data?

They didn't claim it's distasteful, quite the opposite.

Someday i will be able to send emails and not have people think i am an illiterate moron but not today.

You know you can copy and paste your emails into ChatGPT right?

it's not about porn, though, as you can't simply replace the adult content on Tumblr with porn on Twitter, Pornhub etc. – it's about exploring your sexual identity in a very unique way. I recommend you watch the video.

Good point. It's OK if they do that, but writing comments if you didn't engage at all with the content apart from the title is useless to everyone involved. I wish people started to understand this.

very abbreviated tl;dw: Adult content mattered because people could express and explore their sexual identity, not only LGBTQ+ people but everyone. After that disappeared, the users didn't want to interact with a corporate site which is trying to exploit them. It went from indie project to Verizon/Oath daughter company.

Facebook can easily circumvent most requirements like that if the license isn't invasivively copyleft. Usually web standards have permissive licenses.

I didn't drive a BMW 320e (2021) but a BMW 320d Touring (2018). I could not get the navigation system to recognise my voice and the steering wheel buttons had a "lag" of at least 200-500ms before changing anything (e.g. picking up a call, ending a call, cycling through the speedometer menu). A friend of mine drives a recent M5 which seems to be better and to be fair, BMW is one of the better brands in terms of UX. But driving a recent VW id.3 really aggravated me to the point I drove back to the renting place and got another car.

Maybe it's just preference and I prefer the snappier, cleaner interfaces of Asian cars instead of the "space ship" touchscreens with submenus upon submenus with lots of confusing options. I also didn't drive those cars long enough to "get" them, but when I test drove a Hyundai Ioniq 5 before buying it I could just immediately… drive and use it, intuitively understanding all knobs and buttons. Maybe I have an Asian brain in a German body or something.

that's not a defense, there are countless scanning apps for phones and tablets which magically correct the perspective and distortion and remove the creases. In a way, these are even better than scanners because they have a very high resolution.

What's astonishing to me is that there is software which allows you to use your phone's keyboard as an input method for the PC. However, they didn't even think about it because they never needed to connect two devices together without them magically finding each other. Send a file? Do it through WhatsApp, even though the person stands right next to you.
